NEET UG at 8 centres in Jamshedpur tomorrow: Shoes Banned, Strict Rules in Place for 4,231 Candidates

 

Jamshedpur, May 2: The NEET UG examination will be held on Sunday across eight centres in the city, with the district administration putting in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth, fair, and malpractice-free examination. A total of 4,231 candidates are expected to appear.

Exam Timings and Entry Rules

The examination will begin at 2:00 PM. Candidates will be allowed to enter their respective centres only between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. No entry will be permitted after the deadline. Authorities have also enforced a strict dress code, including a ban on shoes, and advised candidates to follow all guidelines carefully.

Examination Centres

The exam will be conducted at Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial College, Co-operative College Jamshedpur, Women’s University Jamshedpur, The Graduate College for Women, Rajkiya Adivasi High School, and ABM College, with multiple venues set up across these institutions.

Security and Monitoring

To ensure strict vigilance, eight magistrates and adequate police personnel have been deployed at all centres. Candidates will undergo thorough frisking, and the entire examination process will be videographed. As per NTA norms, only government employees have been appointed as invigilators to maintain transparency and fairness.

Traffic and Crowd Management

The Deputy Commissioner has directed officials to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent overcrowding near examination centres. Police personnel and magistrates will be stationed at key intersections and sensitive points to manage movement efficiently.

Basic Facilities and Final Preparations

Authorities have ensured that all centres are sanitized and sealed in advance. Arrangements for electricity, drinking water, and restroom facilities have been made for candidates’ convenience. The Deputy Commissioner has instructed all departments to coordinate effectively, complete preparations on time, and avoid any negligence.

Officials have urged candidates to reach their centres well in advance and strictly follow all guidelines to avoid last-minute issues.

Heavy vehicles barred in city for NEET-UG exam today

Jamshedpur, May 2 : In view of the upcoming NEET-UG 2026 examination, authorities in Jamshedpur have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth movement and prevent congestion across the city on May 3.
As per an official order, the operation of all heavy vehicles will be strictly prohibited between 11 AM and 8 PM, with the only exception being buses.
The restriction aims to facilitate hassle-free commuting for thousands of examination candidates and maintain order during the high-traffic examination hours.
The directive has been jointly endorsed by the district’s top administrative and police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police, and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Singhbhum.
Authorities have urged transporters and the general public to adhere to the restrictions and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed across key junctions.
The temporary measure is expected to significantly ease traffic flow and ensure timely arrival of candidates at their examination centres.
