Neeraj Singh brought to Jamshedpur, questioned in DD Bar attack probe

Jamshedpur, July 7: The investigation into the sensational attack at DD Bar in Bistupur has taken a significant turn with the arrival of businessman and BJP leader Neeraj Singh in Jamshedpur for questioning. Singh, who was named as an accused in the case, was brought from Rajasthan by the Jharkhand Police on Tuesday and is currently being interrogated at MGM Police Station.

According to police sources, Singh was arrested from the Khatu Shyam Temple police station area in Rajasthan and produced before a court in Sikar, which granted the investigating team a four-day transit remand.
He was transported by road from Rajasthan to Delhi before being flown to Ranchi early Tuesday morning.
From Ranchi, he was taken to Jamshedpur under tight security by road.

Investigators are questioning Singh over his alleged links with notorious criminal Rahul Dubey, whose name has surfaced during the investigation. Police scrutiny of Singh’s call detail records reportedly revealed that he had spoken to Dubey on the day of the incident.
During interrogation, Singh is understood to have told investigators that Dubey was a regular customer at DD Bar and frequently contacted him over issues such as discounts on liquor or requests to play songs. He reportedly claimed that the conversation on the day of the attack was also related to music at the bar and had no criminal intent.
However, the police remain unconvinced as the investigation has also revealed that Rahul Dubey was in contact with the alleged main accused, Vishwajit Mandal alias ‘Bodra’, around the time of the attack. Investigators are now attempting to establish whether there was any connection between Singh’s conversations with Dubey and the latter’s communication with Bodra.
Rahul Dubey, a resident of Kadma with a criminal background, has previously been jailed in a murder case. His alleged communication with the main accused has emerged as a crucial lead, prompting police to closely examine the nature of his interactions with Neeraj Singh.
Officials said Singh’s interrogation is focused on piecing together the sequence of events, verifying his version, and determining whether there was any prior knowledge of or involvement in the attack. The investigation is continuing, and police are yet to draw any final conclusions regarding Singh’s role.
