Jamshedpur: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Sibu Soren today said the state was underdeveloped despite being one of the richest states of the country.
He was speaking during the conference of party activists of Kolhan held at Town Hall, Sidhgora.
Addressing the conference, Guruji said the state needed to wage another battle to get its rights from the Centre. The battle should not be fought with the help of sticks. Rather it should be fought with logic and initiatives, he said.
The JMM president underlined the need for strengthening the party and keeping its unity intact. He appealed to party activists to ensure historic victory of the party in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Earlier, on the occasion, Soren and other party leaders paid tributes to former leaders of the party.
The state Adivasi welfare minister Champai Soren and minister Lobin Hembram were also present during the programme along with several other MLAs of the party.
The minister appealed to party workers to work hard for the Assembly polls. He said the party had been weakened of late and that there was need for some introspection to find out the reason behind it.
The party leaders were welcomed by the activists. The programme was conducted by party�s central secretary Mohan Karmakar.
Among others present during the programme included Deepak Birua, Ramdas Soren, former MLA Amulyo Sardar, Vinod Pandey, Supriyo Bhattacharya, Ramesh Hansda, Suman Mahato, Sheikh Badruddin, Mahavir Murmu, Shyamal Ranjan Sarkar, Laltu Mahato and Bahadur Kisku.
