Jamshedpur, Aug 13: Former legislator and BJP state spokesman Kunal Sarangi has condemned the gang rape of a minor at Telco Theme Park as debauchery of the highest order and unfortunate. He has tweeted the information of the minor�s rape to central minister Smriti Irani, the president of national Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Priyank Kanungo and the Chief Minister of Jharkhand appealing for justice to the victim.
The BJP state spokesman said that since the Jharkhand chapter of NCPCR was dormant, he had appealed for justice to its national body. Incidentally the recent gang rape is the second incident that has taken place at the Theme Park. In 2011, a couple, during their visit to the Park had been attacked by a number of men. The man was beaten up while the girl was gang raped.
Kunal Sarangi has expressed grave concern over the incident has suggested to the state Chief Minister and Director General of Police to audit security and safety arrangements in public places so that such incidents could be curbed. The BJP state spokesman�s tweet has put the state police head office on alert and on directives of the acting DGP MV Rao, the police headquarter has directed the Jamshedpur SSP to ensure the harshest action against the offenders.
The Jamshedpur police has informed a case has been registered in the Birsanagar police station under case # 76/2020 and four accused in the gang rape incident have been arrested against whom stringent legal proceedings would be undertaken.
