Jamshedpur: Nationalist Congress Party members led by district president Vivek Singh burnt the effigy of state health minister near Bhuiyandih roundabout on Friday to protest infants� deaths at MGMCH and other hospitals of the state.
The protestors raised slogans against the health department and sought immediate resignation of the health minister.
They alleged that the health minister and his department had miserably failed to prevent the deaths of infants in the hospitals of the state. They said the health facilities available in the government hospitals were just not sufficient. They demanded a CBI probe into the deaths of infants in the hospitals of the state.
Among those present during the protest programme included Akhilesh, Srijit, Sunil, Akash, Prabhat Singh, Sanu, Neeraj, Sunny, Sumit, Mukesh, Chandrika, Chandan and Himanshu.
