Jamshedpur, January 4: The NCLT Kolkata bench of judicial member Rohit Kapoor and Balraj Joshi heard the petition of Suresh Narayan Singh against Tayo Rolls Limited on Thursday.
Advocate Akhilesh Srivastava speaking on behalf of workers told the court on the land dispute that Tata Steel received 350 acres of land as a government grant from the then Bihar government in 1969.
The Bihar government acquired those lands by displacing the tribals of five villages who had been living in that area for thousands of years. According to the said government grant, Tata Steel had to build a factory within a year and create employment for the displaced tribals, which Tata Steel did not do, he alleged.
“Since 1969, the said 350 acres of land belongs to Tayo Rolls Limited Company which set up a factory and provided employment to people. 350 acres of land which was given to Tata Steel as per Government Grants Act of 1895 was transferred to AIADA as per another Government Grant and Thus Tata Steel had no remaining claim on it.
A company named Tata Yodogawa was formed in that 350 acres of land, that is, the company formed in this land was allotted this land as per the Government Grant Act and Tata Yodogawa became the owner of 350 acres of land, said Akhilesh Srivastava.
He further said that the resolution professional has fraudulently issued the expression of interest on only 50 acres of land to benefit Tata Steel and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited has fraudulently filed the resolution plan on only 50 acres of land and industrial development on 50 acres. The plan to build a park is not a revival plan, hence both Tata’s claim on 350 acres of land and the resolution plan should be rejected.
