NCC cadets lead voter awareness rally in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a concerted effort to bolster civic engagement and democratic participation, NCC cadets from various schools and colleges in Jamshedpur took to the streets today, rallying city residents to exercise their right to vote. Under the directive of District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, the cadets organized a vibrant awareness campaign, urging citizens to cast their ballots in the upcoming elections.

Marching from the Collectorate through the bustling streets, adorned with placards emblazoned with slogans such as “My vote is my right” and “Your vote is your future,” the cadets captivated the attention of onlookers, igniting a spirit of enthusiasm for electoral participation.

Deputy Development Commissioner and Senior Officer of the Sweep Cell, Manish Kumar, underscored the pivotal role of young voters in shaping the nation’s destiny. Addressing the cadets, he emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and urged them to prioritize voting over other activities on election day.

Interactive sessions were held at the Samvad Auditorium, where cadets engaged in discussions on electoral processes and responsibilities. The event also featured a quiz competition, with the Deputy Development Commissioner honoring cadets who demonstrated a keen understanding of election-related matters.

Efforts were made to ensure that every eligible youth had access to voter registration. Cadets were assisted in verifying their voter status and were encouraged to take the initiative in registering themselves and their peers. The Deputy Development Commissioner urged young voters to mobilize their peers, aiming to collectively increase the district’s voter turnout.

As participants pledged their commitment to vote on May 25th, the event concluded with a solemn voter oath, symbolizing a collective resolve to uphold democratic values and actively participate in the electoral process.
