Chaibasa, Oct 20: National Cricket Club (NCC) Badajamda registered its second win on the trot in SR Rungta B-Division match being played under the aegis of West Singhbhum District Cricket Association at Birsa Munda Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
NCC defeated Meghahatuburu Cricket Club by 6 wickets in the Group-D match and is placed first in the group with eight points and it is almost certain that the team will to play the semi-finals.
Batting first after winning the toss, Meghahatuburu Cricket Club were all out for just 111 runs in 28.5 overs.
Prashant Sandilya scored 44 runs with the help of 4 fours. Karthik Krishna contributed 13 and Rohit Kashyap scored 12 runs. None of the other batsmen could reach double digit. From NCC- Yashasvi Gautam took three wickets for 14 runs. Sagar Jha, Sahil, Rohit Bhowmik and Badal Chaudhary bagged a wicket each.
Chasing 112 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, National Cricket Club Badajamda achieved the target in 25th over losing four wickets.
Sahil Hussain scored 45 runs with the help of three fours and three sixes, Sunny Mishra scored 24 runs with the help of three fours and one six and Suraj Kumar scored 15 runs to take the team on the threshold of victory. For Meghahatuburu Cricket Club, Sarjan Rai took two wickets for 25 runs while Karthik Krishna and Rohit Kashyap got one wicket each.
On Friday, Chakradharpur Cricket Club will play against Laxman Gilua Cricket Club Chakradharpur.
