National Pride: Jharkhand’s Chowka Police Station Ranked 4th Best in India by MHA for 2025

Seraikela: It is a moment of pride for Jharkhand. The Chowka police station in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district has secured the fourth position at the national level and the first position in Jharkhand in the Ranking of Police Stations–2025, released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.

The Ministry of Home Affairs conducts this prestigious annual evaluation of police stations across all states in the country. Based on a comprehensive assessment, the top ten police stations in India are selected and ranked, with the results officially announced at the annual DGsP/IGsP Conference. The latest rankings were declared at the recently concluded conference held in Raipur.

For the 2025 survey, an independent agency carried out extensive ground-level evaluations of police stations across the country. The assessment covered multiple parameters, including analysis of the CCTNS database, crime statistics, crimes against women and vulnerable sections, disposal of cases, charge-sheeting efficiency, police station infrastructure, cleanliness, IT and forensic resources, digital records, police communication systems, citizen feedback, proactive policing initiatives, and the conduct and behavior of police personnel towards the public.

Out of more than 18,000 police stations nationwide, Chowka police station emerged as the fourth best in the country, reflecting the discipline, professionalism, and public-oriented approach of the Seraikela-Kharsawan police, guided by the motto “Service is the Goal.”

On this occasion, Superintendent of Police, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, congratulated the then Station House Officer, Bajrang Mahto, along with all officers and police personnel posted at Chowka police station. He described the achievement as a matter of immense pride for the district and the state.

The SP stated that this honour is the result of the dedication, hard work, and exemplary service of the entire district police team. He emphasized that the ranking is not only a milestone for Chowka police station but also a symbol of the efficiency and commitment of the Jharkhand police as a whole.

Reaffirming the department’s commitment, he said the police force will continue to work with greater determination, always adhering to the principle of “service as our goal.” He also thanked the citizens of the district for their cooperation and assured them of even better and more responsive policing in the future.
