Narendran tries his hand at Tug of war on founder’s day sports

Jamshedpur, March 3: Founder’s Day sports were conducted by sports department of Tata Steel on 1st and 3rd March 2018.
Several events were held including athletics, shotput, long jump, piggy back, pot balance race, cricket ball throw, skipping race, cycle race, basketball dribbling race, sack race, passing the ball, feeding the tiger etc.


In the Men’s category- West Bokaro scored 154 points to be crowned the winner. Jharia with 112 points ended as the runners-up.
In the Women’s category- Iron Makings with 158 points bagged the first place while General Offices with 63 points was the runner-up.


The award for the Best sportsperson of the year was bagged by Ankita.
T V Narendran, MD & CEO, Tata Steel was the chief guest for the occasion and tried his hand at the Tug of war during the founder’s day Sports organized to mark the 179th birth anniversary of JN Tata.
He also gave away the prizes to the winners.


Other prizes of the Founders Day sports were given away by Sudhanshu Pathak, VP (SM). Suresh Dutt Tripathy, VP (HRM), Sunil Bhaskaran, VP (CS), Sanjiv Paul, VP (Safety), Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief (Aviation Services & Sports), R Ravi Prasad, President (TWU), Satish Kumar Singh, General Secretary (TWU), Shanawaz Alam, VP (TWU) other top executives of the Tata Steel and Union leaders were present on the occasion.
