Jamshedpur, July 6: The autobiography of a prominent Sikh leader, Inder Singh Namdhari, titled “Ek Sikh Neta ki Dastan,” was launched at MNPS Auditorium on Wednesday. The event was attended by several distinguished personalities who commended Namdhari’s life story for its inspirational value and its potential to shape a better future.
Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, Harivansh Narayan Singh, praised Namdhari’s autobiography, stating that it serves as a guiding light for individuals aspiring to excel in politics. He emphasized that the book portrays an honest path and offers a fresh perspective and strength to overcome challenges. Singh acknowledged Namdhari’s extensive legislative experience and described the book as a precious pearl that showcases the essence of good governance and democracy. He also highlighted the book’s exploration of the struggle between destiny and hard work, as well as Namdhari’s passion for literature. Singh lauded Namdhari’s impeccable honesty in writing the autobiography and his willingness to shed light on his own weaknesses.
The launch of Namdhari’s autobiography in Jamshedpur holds great significance due to its association with the historic events surrounding the formation of Jharkhand state.
Former Assembly Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari revealed an interesting fact that the resolution for a separate Jharkhand state was passed during the 1988 BJP National Executive held in Jamshedpur. This land served as a source of inspiration and energy for the creation of a separate state, which was eventually accepted by national leadership. Although the BJP initially proposed the name “Vananchal,” the sentiment of the people led to the adoption of the name Jharkhand. Namdhari shared incidents from his college life to politics, emphasizing the importance of listening to one’s heart in difficult situations, as decisions made with emotional intelligence often prove to be correct.
Kunal Sarangi, a former MLA and BJP leader, served as a reviewer for the book. Despite Namdhari’s Sikh background, Sarangi praised his unbiased representation and the profound impact of his biography. Namdhari’s arrival from Pakistan and subsequent establishment of new political standards, breaking down barriers of caste and religion, were recognized as commendable achievements. Sarangi credited Namdhari’s three principles: “Prayas” (effort), “Prarabdha” (destiny), and “Prayer,” for leading religion and politics towards purity.
MLA Saryu Roy highlighted Namdhari’s simplicity, honesty, frankness, legislative and governance experience, which set him apart and continue to inspire the younger generation.
Shailendra Mahato, former General Secretary of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and former MP, acknowledged Namdhari’s instrumental role in the formation of the separate Jharkhand state and expressed his gratitude towards him.
During the book launch, various individuals shared their perspectives, including Arun Maheshwari (Managing Director and Chairman of Vani Prakashan), Sanjay Mishra, senior journalist, Shailendra Singh (President of Jharkhand Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee), and Gurdeep Singh Pappu, Kulwinder Singh. Vijay Anand Munka (President of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce) extended the vote of thanks.
