Jamshedpur, May 8: East Singhbhum District Under-9 Open and Girls Chess Championship concluded at the JRD Tata Sports Complex with prize distribution ceremony on Wednesday.
Total of 6 round in boys category and 5 in girls category were played.
In the Under-9 girls category, Naira Aditya emerged winner. Anishka secured the second position, followed by Arya Shree in third place.
The competition also witnessed commendable performances by Zaira Ahmed, Anvi Agarwal, Soujanya Subhasini Pal, Shreya Aich, T Neha, Vaidehi Pandey and T Niharika.
Rudhra Nil Roy clinched the top spot in the Open category, demonstrating remarkable skills on the chessboard. Abhigyan Singh and Ayansh Goyal secured the second and third positions, respectively.
Shreyansh Singh, Ridhaan Goyal, Adrij Mohanty, Akshat Choudhary, Aakhyaan Dubey, Aditya Garg and Advik Agarwal claimed the subsequent positions.
The winners were awarded by the chief guest V. Ramkrishna, Senior Manager TFA and Sports.
Guest of Honour was Akash Kumar from Tata Archery Academy & Adventure. Also present were tournament director IA Jayant Kr Bhuyan, Chief Arbiter IA Chandan Kumar Prasad and N K Tiwary, General Secretary, East Singhbhum District Chess Association.
