Myths surrounding Root canal treatment must be detached: Dr. Sourav Banerjee

Jamshedpur, May 30: Tobacco is the leading cause for oral cancer which is found mostly in men above 45 years and it should be treated with utmost care, said Dr. Sourav Banerjee, Dentist and Chairman of Omkarananda Dental Care and Research (NGO).

There are symptoms by which one can come to know about the disease and if someone is suffering from- speaking sound from the throat changes and bleeding are some of the indications by which one can recognize it while the reason behind other cancer is related to genes added Dr. Sourav talking to the media persons at Tiwary Bechar complex situated clinic in Bistupur on Saturday.

He said as May 31 is observed as World No Tobacco Day people should be made aware of Root canal treatment (RCT) and myths surrounding it, people think that the treatment is very painful but with advancement in technology the treatment has also been made relaxing for the patients.

NGO is organising an awareness camp from May 31 till June 7 from 10 am to 7 pm at its clinic in Tiwary Bechar Complex. The camp will see Dr. Pallavi Rai, Dr. Jyoti Sharma and others will be present at the camp.
