Jamshedpur : Mystery shrouds the death of a 48-year-old businessman whose body was found lying on the bed at his house in Golmuri Development Area under Golmuri police station area around midnight.
The victim , identified as Harminder Singh was taken to Tata Main Hospital emergency where he was declared as brought dead. The police suspect Singh who had a transport business committed suicide by consuming poison.
In this connection, the police have registered a case under Section Unnatural death on the basis of a statement made by the deceased’s wife Mandip Kaur before sending the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post mortem.
A post-mortem was conducted on the body and the initial autopsy report suggest this to be a case of poisoning.
“The deceased has died of poisoning, but whether he consumed the poison on his own or someone had poisoned him is a matter of investigation by the police,” said a source in the department of forensic and toxicology, MGM Medical College and Hospital.
The relatives said there was no apparent reason that might have caused Harminder to take this drastic step. Deceased wife, Mandip Kaur was not in condition to talk about the sudden death of her husband.
