Mysterious Death of Army Jawan Sparks Controversy in Ranchi: Suicide or Foul Play?

Ranchi: The lifeless body of Army Jawan Manoj Singh was discovered hanging from a tree near Kadru Bridge in the Doranda police station area of Ranchi, raising suspicions of both suicide and foul play. The unsettling incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting immediate intervention from City SP, Hatia DSP, and Army Police officials who have initiated a thorough investigation.

Jawan Manoj Singh, a resident of Uttarakhand and stationed in Sonari, Jamshedpur, was reportedly on the verge of heading home on leave. However, the discovery of his body, adorned with injury marks, has left authorities puzzled about the circumstances leading to his tragic demise. The soldier’s lifeless form was found with a conspicuous lack of upper-body clothing, wearing only pants, adding a layer of mystery to the already perplexing situation.

The incident came to light on Friday morning when local residents discovered the body near Kadru Bridge and promptly informed the police. The City SP, Hatia DSP, and Army Police officials swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate a comprehensive inquiry. Manoj Singh, who had recently arrived at the Deepatoli Army Camp at Booti Mod, was expected to embark on his journey home on Thursday after applying for leave. 1. PCCF (Wildlife) should also do some introspection and fix up responsibility for negligence on his own department. If only they had taken the first two cases of electrocution of elephants (31 October and 2 November) seriously and carried out a thorough inspection of power transmission lines, death of 5 elephants on 20 November could have been averted. While he is busy in the blame game, another elephant was electrocuted in Giridih on 23 November. While it is true that the Government of India has prescribed guidelines for the power transmission lines passing through the forests, the same guidelines also prescribe constitution of coordination committees between the Forest Department and the Electricity Department at the state and district levels. These committees are required to meet at regular intervals and carry out joint inspection of transmission lines. Where are these committees?
