Mutilated body of man found near the railway track

Jamshedpur : A mutilated body of a 40-year-old man was found lying along the railway track behind Baldev Bustee under Jugsalai police station area of the city.

The police suspected it to be a case of murder as the body was partially burnt. The face of the murder victim was smashed beyond recognition and the mutiliated face had bore marks of deep-cut injury.

According to sources, a group of three rag-pickers had first noticed the body lying along the railway track. Circle insepctor, Jugsalai police station, Ashok Giri confirmed it to be a case of murder.

” We had kept the body at an open place for quite some time. When no one did claim it, we sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary,” said Giri. At the mortuary the body will be kept for the next 72 hours and then it will be disposed off by the police.

According to the inspector, the murder victim’s identity should be established first. “Once the identity is established we may reach upto the killer. Therefore, we are searching for a clue like a driving license or voter’s I-card or a manufacturing sticker of his cloth.

“In this case also we suspect the murder must be an outcome of an extra-marital affair, but this can be detected only after the victim’s identity is established,” said the officer.

Notably, a similar semi-burnt body of a 20-year-old youth Guddu Leyangi was found lying at a lonely place in Lachhugora under Parsudih police station area on May 18.
