Musical Extravaganza to put spotlight on safety awareness

Jamshedpur, August 25: In an effort to reinforce the importance of safety amongst the youth of Jamshedpur, and to make safety more relevant to the youth and engage them in a fun manner on the intense subject of safety, Safe (Safety Awareness for Everyone) Club of Jamshedpur and Tata Steel will jointly organize ��A Musical Extravaganza- Zindagi Suraksha Ke Sang� for the students, parents and citizens at XLRI Auditorium on Friday, August 28.

Talking about the event, Ruchi Narendran, Chairperson of Safe said that the proposition to the children is that it is Smart to be safe. �The scope of the activities has been widened from just road safety to cyber safety and personal safety at home and in school, we are trying to make safety fun and a smart choice for the students�, she said while addressing a press conference on Tuesday.

Ruchi further said that to showcase safety through children to a wider audience of parents, children citizens of Jamshedpur. It is unique project because for the first time a collaborative activity of this level is being undertaken on a large scale.

The event is completely �for the children, by the children and of the children�.

Present during the press meet, Sunita Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School, said that for the 40 schools were safe club is running successfully, 29 school�s 225 students will participate in the concert. The event will be held in two shows- the first show will be for students from 10.30 am to 12.45 pm while the second show will start at 6 pm were TV Narendran MD Tata Steel will be the chief guest while R Ravi Prasad, President Tata Workers Union will be the guest of honour.

Ms Amy Billimoria, Principal of Tarapore School, Agrico said that the students have put in a lot of effort as rehearsals are being done after school hours and students are perfectly managing the studies and concert preparations.

Students at the concert will make the audience aware of safety through dance drama. There will be Live songs, dance and dialogue. Students should imbibe that safety is my responsibility. It is a unique project because for the first time a collaborative activity of this level is being undertaken on a large scale, added Bilimoria.

The play is directed by Sunita Sinha, Principal of Gulmohur High School, Music Choreography is being done by Amy Bilimoria, Principal of Tarapore School, Agrico, Mrs Varsha Daga and Mrs Nandini SHukla, Principal, KSMS. Also present at the event was Rajani Shekhar, Principal DBMS English School and Shyam Sundar, Chief Corporate Safety, Tata Steel and others.
