West Bokaro, Oct 5: With an objective to create awareness regarding road safety, women empowerment along with other important issues among the general mass, the Security department of Tata Steel in association with the state government today organised a multi-dimensional awareness programme at the Tata Steel Auditorium, West Bokaro.
Rajeshwari B, Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh, attended the programme as chief guest while Sanjay Ranjan Singh, Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Ranchi; Sanjeev Kumar, District Transport Officer (DTO), Ramgarh; Sashi Prakash, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ramgarh and Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager (Coal), Tata Steel attended the event as Special Guests. Among others present on the occasion were Mohan Mahto, President, Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh (RCMS), Kiran Yadav, Principal, Tata DAV Public School along with other senior officials of Tata Steel and RCMS.
The programme aimed at increasing the awareness among the mass regarding various important issues including road safety, women empowerment, depression and patriotism. The session also highlighted issues like theft and accidents that prevail in the society now days.
Students of Jharkhand Film and Theatre Academy, Ranchi kept the audience spell bound with their humorous yet informative skits on various issues like road safety and patriotism.
While addressing the audience, Rajeshwari B, Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh stressed on the role and responsibility of the common man towards the safety and security of their lives and assets. She urged the students present in the audience to propagate the safety messaging among their friends and family members. �District Administration has identified some �Black Spots� in the district where accidents occur frequently and we are working on finding out solutions for the same�, added Rajeshwari B.
On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar Singh, GM (Coal), West Bokaro said: �Ignorance is one of the prime reasons for road accidents and proper awareness is the only solution to the issue�. Singh added that the parents should take first step in road safety and should not give vehicles or mobiles to the children before they turn 18.
Sanjay Ranjan Singh, SP (Traffic), Ranchi, said that the number of road accidents can be minimised by gaining basic knowledge on road safety.
The students of Jharkhand Film and Theatre Academy, Ranchi were felicitated at the event for their contribution towards promoting road safety.
