Jamshedpur: The Mukti (freedom) Caravan reached Saraikela today. This is a Kailash Styarthi Foundation project designed against ill treatment of children and human trafficking. Street corner meetings and presentation of plays (Nukkad Natak) were organized near Pathanmara Panchayat Bhawan, Saraikela Haat Bazaar and Gudri Market. Social outfit Youth Unit for Voluntary Action (YUVA) convened the program.
The Mukti Caravan was led by state convener Arjun Kumar who, while speaking to children and their guardians stated that Jharkhand should be rid of human and child traffickers within three years. He observed, �This requires people to be aware of these circumstances and added, �Education is a right for children. It is a community responsibility to protect and educate children.�
The street corner meetings were anchored by YUVA secretary Barnali Chakraborty and organization founder Arvind Tiwary.
Those present during the program included District Child Welfare officer Santosh Thakur, Labor officer Sandip Gupta, Kailash Satyarthi Foundation Documentation Officer Pankaj, Jan Sarokar official Manohar Kumar, Strips Wheel Ltd CSR Head Priyash Gautam, CWC member Padma Gorai and Yoshamati Mahto, KVPSDSS Girls High School principal Narayan Sir, Pravin Rath, Minakshi Rajak, Tulsi Nanda, YUVA�s Samrat Ganguli, Ravi Dubey, Chandmani Savaiya, Sushil Jonko, Bahadur Jonko, Bahadur Jonko, Genda Tudu, Arup Mandal, Mangal and others.
Children from Pathanmara High School and KVPSDSS at Saraikela Haat were present during the program.
