Mukhiyas felicitated on Panchayati Raj Day at CM’s Camp Office

Jamshedpur: Chief Minister’s camp office at Agrico felicitated three women Mukhiyas and a panchayat committee member of East Singhbhum on Monday on Panchayati Raj Day.

The deputy collector Sanjay Kumar gave letters of appreciation and mementos to Dulari Murmu, Mukhiya of South Badiya panchayat, Rekha Oraon, Mukhiya of North Ichra panchayat, Neelima Deogam, Mukhiya of South Ichra panchayat and Urmila Samad, member of Potka panchayat committee at a function organized to mark the occasion.

Kumar said Dulari Murmu had played a vital role in the construction of toilets without hours of a cashless marriage organized in her panchayat in January this year.

Neelima Deogam was felicitated for making her panchayat the first ODF (open defecation free) panchayat of East Singhbhum while Rekha Oraon was felicitated for being elected Mukhiya twice at a young age and working hard for her panchayat. Urmila Samad was honoured for playing a pivotal role in running the ‘beti bachao, beti padhao’ campaign in Tiring.

The deputy collector congratulated the newly elected panchayat representatives and spoke on the importance of Panchayati Raj. He asked them to continue their good work in the larger interest of the villagers.
