Jamshedpur: The sitting MP of Jamshedpur Dr Ajoy Kumar has asked the East Singhbhum district administration to provide alternative arrangements for the rehabilitation of the residents of Marine Drive area before removing encroachment.
He said it was disappointing to know that the district administration had done nothing to rehabilitate the people going to be rendered homeless after the anti-encroachment drive. The administration has announced to launch the anti-encroachment drive in Marine Drive Busti from tomorrow till 4th May.
The anti-encroachment drive is being taken to facilitate smooth implementation of the Western Corridor Project. He said the administration should take care to provide rehabilitation facilities for the people who are going to lose their home and hearth as a result of the anti-encroachment drive.
The MP alleged that the district administration had removed encroachment in a similar manner earlier, but no action was taken effectively to rehabilitate the people. He said many people are still forced to live on the streets due to lack of rehabilitation initiative by the administration.
