Jamshedpur : Jamshedpur MP Vidyut Baran Mahto on Monday said that a meeting will be held with state road construction department principal secretary Rajbala Verma in the first week of September at Ranchi in connection with payment of 50 percent of the cost for construction of road overbridge at Jugsalai.
The railway has finalised the blueprint for the Rs 21.54 crore project. The road over bridge was a long pending demand of the people residing at Jugsalai.
Sources informed that of the 21.54 crores, 9.77 crores will be spent by the railway, where as the remaining Rs 11.77 crores will be bore by the state government. The road over bridge would ensure smooth traffic and avoid decongestion as the commuters face it now while crossing the level crossing.
The congested Jugsalai level crossing area can look forward for better days ahead. The railway has finalised the blueprint for the Rs 21.54 crore project. The road over-bridge was a long pending demand of the people residing at Jugsalai. As a train pass through the adjoining Jugsala in every 15 minutes, causing the drop-gate at the level crossing to cause traffic congestion.
The proposed bridge will be 200 metres long and 20 feet wide at from the point of Jugsalai level crossing toward the Tata Pigment. There will be two planks of the bridge and each plank connecting to the bifurcated road would be of 15 feet width. He pointed out at the Jugsalai end the bridge will be 100 metres and as much long toward the Tata Pigment direction.
The existing Jugsalai roundabout will remain where it is not, but its size will be reduced mariginally. The railway has already sanctioned. He informed that of the 21.54 crores, 9.77 crores will be spent by the railway, where as the remaining Rs 11.77 crores will be bore by the state government.Meanwhile, the district administration and railway administration has recently showed the plan of the proposed road over-bridge project to the local residents who have their buildings.
Majority of the locals going to be affected with the project have given their consent for the construction of the road over-bridge.Prior to this Mahto laid the foundation stone of a slew of infrastructure projects worth Rs 1.36-crore in a bid to provide better road and drainage system at Jugsalai.
In all 13 PCC (pre-cast concrete) roads will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 92.37 lakh at Gauri Shanker Road, Shiv Ghat Road, Station Road, Garib Nawaj Colony, Naya Bazaar, and Purani Basti areas. While new drains would be constructed at four places at Millatnagar, Jama Masjid and Jugsalai Bazaar area at an estimated cost of Rs 44 lakh.
