Seraikela, Sept 22: Mounting incidences of road accidents caused by speeding vehicles have become causes of concern for the residents of Saraikela-Kharsawan district. Speeding vehicles have accounted for deaths and serious injuries and such cases have been mounting over the recent days.
Social worker and advocate, Jalesh Kavi has written to the Saraikela SDO, urging him to implement minimum speed limits of vehicles commuting on the main road under Saraikela Nagar Panchayat. Kavi, suggested in his letter that the maximum speed limit for vehicles plying on the Saraikela main road be decelerated to 20 Kms per hour as a measure to curb the mounting cases of road mishaps.
Social activist and lawyer Jalesh Kavi, in his letter to the SDO indicated the accident prone roads that included College Morh – Chaibasa, Saraikela Nagar Panchayat office to Hansaudih and Kharsawan Road to Titirbila Pulia where speed limit for vehicles should be fixed at 20 Km/hour. Kavi stated that these accident prone roads passed along several educational institutions where speeding vehicles have been responsible for many accidents.
