Jamshedpur: A motorcyclist was hit by a truck near the Golmuri Church today at about 11 am by a truck whose driver had lost control over the heavy vehicle. The motorcyclist died on the spot.
According to reports, the motorcyclist, identified as Debasish Ghosh was a resident of Bagunnagar under Sidgora PS. He worked as a supervisor for a private contractor in Tata Motors. An angry crowd gathered at the spot of accident to protest such regular incidents. It was only after the police�s pacifying the irate crowd that the body of the accident victim could be collected and sent for postmortem. The crowd blamed the police administration for not taking any positive step to harness accidents that have become a regular feature along this road.
It may be mentioned here that there are several accident prone zones in the Golmuri PS area. The Tata Motors roundabout, Evening Club curb, Golmuri Kali Temple, Old Water Tank Area in Golmuri, Golmuri Police Line and the RD Tata roundabout are the major danger prone areas that continue to witness major accidents. The majority of victims of these accidents are two-wheeler riders.
