Motilal Nehru Public School, Kavyapta Global School wins JOGGA Badminton Championship

 

JUSCO School South Park hosts Inter-School Championship

Jamshedpur, Aug 24: The JOGGA Inter-School Badminton Championship 2024, organized by JUSCO School South Park, concluded successfully on August 24, 2024. The three-day event wrapped up with a prize distribution ceremony held at the JRD Tata Badminton Training Centre. This year’s championship saw participation from 17 schools and approximately 250 students, showcasing an impressive display of talent and sportsmanship.

The ceremony was graced by A.F. Madon, Administrator of JEM Foundation, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Madon emphasized that while winning is significant, true sportsmanship is demonstrated through the graceful handling of both victory and defeat. He congratulated the winners and encouraged them to continue nurturing their talents and striving for excellence. Firoz Khan, Vice President and sports promoter of JOGGA, also attended the event as a special guest. Mili Sinha, Principal of JUSCO School South Park, welcomed the guests with saplings, highlighting the school’s commitment to both education and environmental stewardship.

The event’s success was also attributed to the dedicated team of officials led by Vivek Sharma, Head Coach of Badminton at the JRD Complex, who received appreciation certificates for their efficient conduct of the championship. Coaches from all 17 participating schools were honoured with certificates as a token of appreciation for their support and contributions.

The results of the tournament were as follows:

In the Junior Girls’ category, the team from Motilal Nehru Public School, comprising Yashasvi Srivastava, Varsha Kumari, and Afifa Anam, took the top position. They were followed by the team from S D S M School for Excellence, which included Preet Kaur, Swarali Shintre, Reet Singh, and Shreya Rani. The third place was secured by Pratyusha, Sanna Parween, Riya Kumari, and Sizzle Mishra from Ramkrishna Mission School, Bistupur.

In the Junior Boys’ category, Kerala Public School, Mango, triumphed with Shadan Ahmad Khan, Uzair Baig, and Md Zaid Ali leading the team. Baridih High School, represented by Navin Mahato, Ashit Mahato, Harshit Gupta, and Piyush Lohar, finished in second place. The third place was achieved by S. Sankalp Kumar, Shashank Kumar Singh, Abhigyan Kumar, and Aditya Kumar from Motilal Nehru Public School.

The Senior Girls’ category saw a win by Motilal Nehru Public School’s (MNPS) team of Vaibhavi Srivastava, Akanksha Ghosh, Abhigya Raj, and Iqra Zia. Kerala Public School, Kadma, with Anjali Sharma, Avani Kumari, and Soumya Kumari, secured the second position. The third place was awarded to JUSCO School South Park, represented by Roly Gupta, Priya Aich, Monalika Kumari, and Rajyashree Samanta.

In the Senior Boys’ category, Kavyapta Global School’s (KVGS) team of Amandeep, Pushpesh Kumar and Tanmay Patel emerged victorious. Baldwin Farm Area High School, Kadma, with Faizan Alam, Nihal Patel, Prasun Kumar, and Shibajee Darogha, came in second. The third position was claimed by Atul Sinha, Md Sajid, and Shivam Dubey from D B M S Kadma.
