Tata Steel Hosts Interschool Swimming Championship on National Sports Day
Jamshedpur, August 24: In celebration of National Sports Day, Tata Steel’s Sports Department organized Interschool Swimming Championship on August 24. The event saw enthusiastic participation from around 230 students representing various schools across the city.
The championship was graced by Chief Guest Hormaze B. Todiwala, Head of Employee Services at Tata Steel. Otherguests included Ram Balak Singh, L. Nageshwar Rao, Hassan Imam, and Satish Kumar Singh, who were present to encourage the young swimmers.

In the boys’ category, J.P.S Baridih clinched the overall championship title with 28 points, while D.A.V Bistupur finished as runners-up with 22 points. In the girls’ category, Loyola School Jamshedpur emerged victorious with 30 points, closely followed by Carmel Junior College, who secured the runners-up position with 25 points.
The event was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of sports in the holistic development of students and fostering a spirit of healthy competition among the youth.
