
Jamshedpur, Aug 2: Inner Wheel Club of Jamshedpur organised a seminar on breast feeding at Jhabri basti, C.H. Area on Thursday. Varsha Gandhi, former president of the club shed light on the benefits of breast feeding, for both the mother and the child.
She informed about the importance of breast feeding within one hour of the child’s birth, and how breast feeding for the first six months could prevent the child from various diseases. Mother’s milk is always best for the baby, Gandhi added.
P.P. Deepti Singh encouraged the willing women to adopt a child.
“Adoption can bring happiness and parental love and care in the child’s life”, she added.
Around 50 women were present on the occasion. Celebrating friendship day, all the women in the club exchanged friendship bands. Jyotsana, from Jhabri basti, has adopted a child, for which she has been rewarded by the president of the club.
President Manju Rani, P.P. Nalini, P.P. Deepti Singh, P.P. Pasam Adeshra, Pramila, Naveeta, Radhika, Geeta, Ranjeeta and Vidya Tiwari were present on this occasion.
