Monsoon trough causing rain in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Aug 23: City is witnessing a spell of rains after a brief gap, courtesy the formation of monsoon trough in the sky, Met office sources said.

Sources said clouds loomed over the city sky and partial and medium level rain has started in the city here on Tuesday. After impact of deep depression in Jharkhand came to an end, the monsoon trough is entering the Bay of Bengal through Kolhan, sources said.

According to the weather department, almost all places of Jharkhand would witness rain on 24^th and 25^th August. This would continue till 26^th August. Rainfall would reduce thereafter. Thundering and lightning are expected at some places.

Met officials said rainfall in August has been fairly good. From 1^st June to 23^rd August, normal rainfall of 738.3 mm was recorded in Jharkhand while actual rainwall was recorded at 535.4 mm, sources said.

In East Singhbhum, normal rainfall was recorded at 792.5 mm while actual rainfall was recorded at 894.5 mm, sources said.
