Jamshedpur : Tata Steel president (TQM and Steel Business) Anand Sen while addressing flag hoisting ceremony said that Momentum Jharkhand continued to have a positive effect on the state with more than Rs 1,000 crore of new investments.
Expressing confidence over growth in steel sector, he said the steel industry had performed well.
“The growth rate of steel is about 6 per cent and for the first time India has crossed 100 million ton production of crude steel capacity during a calendar year. This has helped India in winning position as the third-largest steel-making economy in the world and it is hoped we will shortly become No. 2 since Japan is only 2.5 million tons ahead,” he added.
Sen added the city has been strongly focused during the last one year in improving the quality of life of people of Jamshedpur. “Better roads and infrastructure have been developed or the slew of social, cultural and sports activities that have been brought to the city is truly remarkable,” he added.
