Jamshedpur: The Bihar BJP state spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan, during his Jamshedpur stay emphatically stated that women of the minority communities had been provided true freedom instead of flimsy assurances by the government prior to 2014. He said, The Modi government after taking over the reins of the nation has wrought revolutionary changes and turned hopes to reality with the introduction of various schemes that has not only empowered women of the Muslim community but given them a true sense of independence. The era when the community was seen as mere vote banks with an occasional Iftar party thrown in to appease the Muslims without meaning any form of developmental progress is now over with the Modi government going all out to provide genuine and independent social status to the women of the community.

Rajiv Ranjan said under Narendra Modi, many socio-economic schemes were launched and were having positive effect among the women of the minority community. The government played a vital role in the erasing of Teen Talaq law that had been a curse to Muslim women through decades. This bold step, Ranjan said, had set the pace for empowerment of Muslim women.  It was also at the insistence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that women of this community got the green signal of going on Haj pilgrimage without any close companion.

Muslim girl students of classes IX and X are now getting Rs 10,000 each to bolster their desire and need for literacy. These apart, many women of this community have benefitted from the Ujjwala Yojna, Mudra Yojna, Awas Yojna to mention a few. In brief, the Modi government has ensured social status, financial security and education for the hitherto deprived Muslim women. Now the women of this minority community have got the feel of genuine freedom, observed Rajiv Ranjan.
