Mock drills to promote fire safety awareness in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, fire safety awareness programmes were conducted in several schools across the urban area on Monday. Students and teachers were trained on emergency response and rescue measures through live mock drills.

The drills were organized at St. Xavier’s English High School, Khasmahal, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee High School, Khasmahal, and Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Bagbera. During the exercise, fire safety trainers demonstrated the use of fire extinguishers, safe exit routes, and the importance of timely reporting during emergencies. They also explained preventive steps to reduce the risk of fire accidents.

Speaking on the occasion, fire brigade trainers said the purpose of such mock drills is to ensure that students and teachers are well-prepared to deal with fire incidents at the school level. They added that similar programmes will be conducted in more schools to spread awareness about fire safety among a wider section of society.
