Mobile computer training programme through Kaushalyan

Jamshedpur, Nov 27: In a novel initiative, Tata Steel Foundation is providing training on computer literacy through a mobile lab under the project ‘Kaushalyan’.

As a part of the project, the bus converted into a computer lab is fitted with necessary equipment that travels to various schools to enhance technological skills of students.

With the objective of reaching out to a larger number of schools, this initiative has been taken up by the Foundation. The course duration is for a period of three months for one school.

Three months basic computer training has been completed at Shree Surat Gujrati Sarvajanik Medium School on October 2021. Today, 44 students who completed the course were provided with certificates.

To ensure the sustainability of the programme, a computer lab was also established at the school. This Lab was inaugurated by Captain Amitabh, (Head Skill Development), Tata Steel and President and Secretary of Shree Surat Gujrati Sarvajanik Medium School, Jitu Bhai Patel and Mahesh Bhai Patel, were also there.

Training has been provided in 19 batches already with 296 students completing the course. Presently, the bus has reached five urban/semi-urban schools and there are plans to cover more schools in the coming days.
