Jamshedpur, Nov 7: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West celebrated World Interact Week with great enthusiasm from November 3 to 7, reaffirming its commitment to motivating and empowering young leaders through meaningful community engagement. The event aimed to nurture leadership qualities, creativity, and social responsibility among students.
Five prominent schools—Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS), Church School Beldih, Kashidih High School, Kerala Samajam Model School (KSMS), and DBMS Career Academy—hosted a series of inter-school competitions that drew enthusiastic participation from students across Jamshedpur. The contests tested participants’ skills in writing, debating, art, music, and dance, and served as a platform to showcase their creativity, cultural heritage, and teamwork.
In the Inter-School Creative Writing Competition, Anushree Bhattacharya of Church School Beldih bagged the first prize, followed by Ariyana Upadhyay (MNPS) and Monalisa Gope (Kashidih High School). The Debate Competition saw MNPS students Ritaliki Kumari and Hrishika secure the top spot, while the Church School Beldih team of Hrishikesh Kumar Singh and Anresha Chowdhury came second.
In the Folk Song Competition, Kashidih High School and KSMS were declared joint winners, with MNPS and Vikas Vidyalaya finishing second and third respectively. KSMS also won first place in the Folk Dance Competition – “Rangeelo Bharat”, followed by Kashidih High School and Vikas Vidyalaya. In the Picasso Drawing Competition, Araina Bose (MNPS) secured the first prize, while Apoorva Ayan (DBMS Career Academy) and Mukul Dev Pradhan (MNPS) finished second and third.
Rotary Club President Ashok Jha expressed delight over the success of the event and extended special thanks to Rtn. Dr. Joohi Samarpita, Rtn. Anjani Nidhi, Rtn. Vinita Jha, and the organizing team for their efforts, along with the principals of all participating schools for their support and cooperation.
The club also acknowledged the wholehearted cooperation of Sangeeta Singh (Principal, MNPS), Nandini Shukla (Principal, KSMS), Francis Joseph (Principal, Kashidih High School), Esther Mohanty (Principal, Church School), Vikas Thakur (Principal, Vikas Vidyalaya), and Soma Banerjee (Principal, DBMS Career Academy).
Anupama Sehgal, Rtn. Vinita Jha, Rtn. Shweta Chand, Rtn. Dr. Monica Uppal, Rtn. Deepti Singh, Rtn. Indu Gandhi, Ms. Amrita, Rtn. Seema Tiwari, Rotarian Poonam, along with the Interact Club moderators, teachers, principals, and other Rotarians, played a vital role in making the event a grand success.
Amrita Choudhary, Anita Sahu, Shripriya Dharmarajan, and Anjali Ganesan contributed significantly as judges in the various competitions.
The week-long celebration by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West concluded successfully through the tireless efforts of Interact Coordinators Archita, Anindita, Prakash Thakur, Poornima Bakshi, Mridu Rai, and Pooja Nisha Agarwal.
Certificates and prizes will be distributed to the participants during the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) event.
