MNPS Jamshedpur illuminates the path to climate consciousness

Jamshedpur: Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) took a bold step towards raising awareness on Climate Change with an inspirational program organized in association with People for Change. Spearheaded by the visionary Principal, Mrs. Ashu Tiwary, the event drew inspiration from the pressing need to address climate-related challenges and foster a generation of environmentally conscious individuals.

The program, graced by the esteemed presence of renowned environmental scientist  Gaurav Anand, unfolded as a dynamic platform for engagement and enlightenment.  Anand, serving as the chief guest and keynote speaker, brought forth his expertise, shedding light on the gravity of climate issues and the imperative for collective action.

Co-hosted by Souvik Saha from People for Change, the event welcomed the enthusiastic participation of students from classes 9, 10, and 11, along with educator Balaka Dutta and moderator  Souvik Saha. The Round Table discussion delved into pivotal questions, challenging participants to reflect on how Climate Change directly impacts their lives and explore actionable initiatives that can be implemented within the school to raise awareness.

Key themes included the integration of climate change education into the school curriculum and the pivotal role of youth in spearheading initiatives against climate change. The discussions aimed not only to inform but also to inspire proactive measures among the younger generation.

Closing the event with a touch of gratitude, Eco Club teacher Jaishree Naidu emphasized the significance of collective efforts in propagating awareness about climate change and ensuring a sustainable future. The commitment of MNPS to fostering a community that is well-informed and proactive in tackling climate challenges was evident throughout the program.

The program also showcased the active participation of students, including Palak Srivastav, Aniket Das, Ariana Upadhyay, Unnati Shukla, Pragati, Priyanshu Patro, and Atul Kumar. Their engagement exemplified the school’s dedication to nurturing a generation of responsible global citizens deeply invested in preserving and protecting the environment. MNPS remains steadfast in its commitment to shaping young minds that understand the urgency of climate action and are poised to make a positive impact on the world.
