Jamshedpur: Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) authorities organized a special camp at Astha Space Town, Dimna Road, on Sunday to collect holding tax dues from the residents.
The campaign was led by the special officer of MNAC Sanjay Kumar. A total of Rs 21,320 was collected from the flat owners.
MNAC sources said the holding tax was imposed on the Mango residents at the annual rate of Rs 80 till the year 2016.
The holding tax arrears were recovered at the old rate at today�s camp. The residents will have to pay as per new holding tax rate very soon, sources said.
The MNAC is conducting a survey in the city before revising the holding tax rates. From next year, new rates will be applicable, sources said.
Addressing the local residents, Kumar appealed to them to pay their unpaid taxes in time as the revenue earned from taxes was crucial for the MNAC to carry out its various functions.
The residents welcomed MNAC�s decision to organize special camp for holding tax collection.
Among those present at the camp included City Manager of MNAC S Rehman, principal assistant CC Goswami, Vijay Kumar and Shiv Kumar.
