MMC divides Mango into eight zones for cleaning, to spend Rs 21 lakh

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: Mango Municipal Corporation has set the ball rolling for keeping Mango clean. It has divided the entire area into eight zones in order to facilitate hassle-free completion of the cleaning job. So far, as a practice, Mango used to be divided into three zones. But due to unsatisfactory work, the cleaning plan was revised.

According to Deepak Sahay, executive officer of Mango Municipal Corporation, �We have decided to strictly deal with the contractors in case garbage is found anywhere in the municipal area. Mango Municipal Corporation has decided to spend over Rs 21 lakh a year on cleaning of Mango. A tender has also been floated for this purpose,� he said.

Sahay said the contractors concerned will be expected to clean all main roads and drains and also empty garbage bins. The various areas earmarked for cleaning purpose include Old Purulia Road, New Purulia Road, Mango Chowk, Pardih Chowk and Dimna Road.
