Ranchi, March 13: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy met the Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly Rabindra Nath Mahato and submitted a notice of breach of privilege to take action against Indian Medical Association (IMA) Jamshedpur branch officials.
The MLA sought action against Jamshedpur branch president Dr GC Majhi and secretary Dr Saurav Chaudhary for breach of privilege.
It is noteworthy that recently, the president and secretary of the Jamshedpur branch of the Indian Medical Association had questioned the right of MLA Saryu Rai to ask questions in the Assembly and in this regard held a press conference and criticized him by making false allegations.
The Speaker of the Assembly assured MLA Saryu Rai that he will take legal action on the information of breach of privilege.
He has said that the president and secretary of Jamshedpur branch of IMA have challenged the right of an assembly member to ask questions in the Assembly and have expressed doubt on his intention to ask questions.
Roy has said that asking him questions in the Assembly has been described as harassing a female doctor
