Jamshedpur, June 17: Dr Sanjay Giri, president of Galwan Veer Shahid Ganesh Hansda Memorial Service Committee, Friday accused Baharagora MLA Sameer Mohanty of keeping local villagers in the dark regarding cancellation of Chief Minister’s scheduled visit yesterday.
Speaking a day after the inauguration of a life-size bust of martyr Ganesh Hansda in his native place, Kosafaliya village, Giri alleged that the MLA had not visited the martyr’s village and taken care to speak to his family members in the last two years.
“We can understand that the CM could not come due to his very busy schedule. But the local MLA should not have kept the villagers in the dark till the last minute. He should have made it clear to the villagers that the CM will not be coming. This is an insult to the martyr and the people of his entire village,” said Giri.
Giri thanked state minister Champai Soren for attending the inauguration of late Ganesh Hansda’s statue and Shahid Park built in his memory. He claimed that the villagers of Kosafaliya were deprived of LPG and electricity till date.
The MLA could not be contacted for his comments on the allegations leveled by Dr Giri.
