MLA Sadhucharan Mahato and 20 others booked for vandalism

Jamshedpur: An FIR has been registered against the BJP MLA from Ichagarh Sadhucharan Mahato and 20 others for allegedly vandalizing property belonging to PS Udyog Private Limited, Chandil. The legislator and his supporters also allegedly assaulted the company employees and workers, police said.

Sources said the case was lodged after the accused MLA and his supporters reached the company and opened attack on the contract workers from Odisha. The workers were beaten up with canes and rods. They ran to save their lives and went to Chandil railway station where they were again attacked by the MLA and his men, sources said.

The vandals also reportedly threw away the food items and cooked meal of the workers. The workers were organizing a peaceful rally demanding job in front of the company. Police was not present during the incident.

Police began an investigation into the incident on the basis of the CCTV footage obtained from the company premises.
