Jamshedpur: Representatives nominated by Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy have accused Mango Municipal Corporation (MMC) Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar of disrespectful behaviour.
According to Mukul Mishra, MLA’s Public Utility Representative, a delegation of public facility representatives was scheduled to meet Krishna Kumar at 10 AM to submit a demand letter addressing key civic concerns, including sanitation, fogging and drinking water supply. Despite confirming the appointment in advance, the Deputy Municipal Commissioner was absent from the office and attempts to reach him via phone went unanswered.
“If he had other important engagements, he should have at least informed us or taken our calls,” said Mishra. The delegation waited for hours, but Kumar did not appear. Frustrated by the lack of response, the representatives pasted their demand letter on the Mango Municipal Corporation office wall and staged a symbolic protest for an hour.
Feeling insulted by the official’s absence, the representatives announced plans to escalate their protest. “We will sit on a dharna outside the Mango Municipal Corporation office on Monday, March 10, along with local citizens, until our grievances are acknowledged,” Mishra declared.
The delegation included Pappu Singh, Neeraj Singh, Santosh Bhagat and Pintu Singh, who joined the protest demanding accountability and immediate action on public issues.
