Jamshedpur, October 3: Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi inaugurated a cold storage facility with a 5000 MT capacity in Bamani, Patamda block, on Thursday. The facility, built by the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Cooperative Department at a cost of Rs 10 crore, will be operated by Hope and Health Care Private Limited, Hazaribagh.
Farmers can store a variety of produce, including tomatoes, potatoes, coriander, and fruits, ensuring better market prices during peak season. Addressing the gathering, Kalindi emphasized that this cold storage fulfilled a long-standing demand in Patamda, benefitting local farmers.
The cold storage, initially inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was formally opened by Kalindi, who credited the state’s ongoing development initiatives. Several local leaders and representatives were present at the event.
