MLA inaugurates SAF allocation camp for new water connections in Jamshedpur East

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu inaugurated the Self-Assessment Form (SAF) number allocation camp for new water connections in her constituency on Saturday. The camp, held at Navodaya Adivasi Primary School, Babudih, Bhuinyadih, saw the participation of numerous local residents who submitted their applications for SAF numbers along with the required documents. The event was attended by Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee officials, City Manager Anay Raj, BJP workers and various local citizens.

This initiative is part of the broader goal to ensure access to water for every citizen, under the central government’s Har Ghar Nal Yojana. Before this camp, residents of Jamshedpur East had to visit the SAF office located in Bistupur, which falls under the Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency. The new camp eliminates this need, allowing local residents to apply for the SAF number in their own area. The camp will run daily from 11 am to 3 pm for a week and may be extended depending on public demand and convenience.

In her address, MLA Purnima Sahu emphasized that this camp was set up to streamline the process of obtaining SAF numbers, which are necessary for acquiring new water connections in the region. She also assured the residents that future camps would be held regularly to address any additional requirements.

Among the attendees were prominent local residents such as Mithilesh Sao, Dhanraj Gupta, Manoj Yadav, Akash Thakur, Bunty Kalindi and Makarji Kalindi, among others. The camp has been seen as a major step forward in providing easier access to essential services for the people of Jamshedpur East.
