Jamshedpur, May 13: BJP MLA from Ichagarh, Sadhucharan Mahto inspected the under construction Domuhani Bridge over river Subernarekha connecting the Marine Drive in Sonari at Jamshedpur in East Singhbhum with NH-33 at Kanderbera in Chandil, Seraikela-Kharsawan.
Mahto met the senior officials and took stock of work. Speaking to reporters, the MLA said that they are satisfied with the construction work completed so far. There were some complaints about the boulder in construction, which has been taken away. Departmental officials have assured that white boulders would not be used.
It may be noted that the foundation stone of the bridge was laid on March 13 by Chief Minister Raghubar Das. The proposed length is 252 meters and width of 12 meters. The construction work of the Rs 41-crore Domuhani Bridge (named after Domuhani � the confluence of Subernarekha and Kharkai Rivers).
The construction work of the bridge would be carried out by Calcutta-based firm M/s Royal Infratech Private Limited on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode for faster execution of the project (under EPC mode the government unit will construct the road with help from private party in terms of engineering and construction expertise and procurement of raw material.
The 252-meter long four-lane bridge (dual-carriageway) with each carriageway of nearly 8.5 meters and pedestrian pathway on each flank of 1.5 meters will have the Sonari side of the proposed bridge reaching out to Swarn Vihar and the Chandil side will connect to a village called Dobo.
From Dobo, an approach road (nearly 6 km) will be constructed which would will lead to Kanderbera (near Chandil) and then meet NH-33.
