Minor lured away in Jamshedpur; accused arrested by police

Jamshedpur: Sidhgora police arrested Shivam Singh today for allegedly luring away and kidnapping a minor girl. The abducted girl was rescued, and the accused was remanded to judicial custody after being produced in court by the police.

The girl’s family had lodged a police complaint, expressing suspicion of kidnapping after she suddenly went missing. Acting swiftly, the police registered a case under relevant IPC sections and the POCSO Act and began an investigation.

During the preliminary probe, police found indications of Singh’s involvement. A police official said that the accused was detained for questioning, during which several crucial details emerged, leading to his formal arrest.

Sidhgora police are now conducting an in-depth investigation into the entire incident. The probe team is examining the motive, sequence of events, and all possible angles related to the minor being abducted. Technical evidence, statements, and other available inputs are being scrutinized to determine further legal action.

Police officials stated that, given the sensitivity of the case, the investigation is being carried out with utmost caution and confidentiality. They added that further action will be based on concrete evidence and new facts that surface during the probe, ensuring justice for the survivor.

Authorities also said that the minor’s safety remains the top priority. Necessary procedures, including medical examination and counselling for the girl, are being undertaken as part of the ongoing investigation.
