Minor girl succumbs to heat stroke in Jamshedpur, brother critical

Jamshedpur, June 15: An 8-year-old girl from Gudajhor village in the Ghatshila police station area of East Singhbhum district died of a heat stroke on Saturday. Her brother was in critical condition and was receiving treatment at Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital. According to information, the children of Malinder Singh, son- Suman Singh (10 years old), anddaughter, Renuka Singh (8 years old) had been suffering from fever since the past couple of days.Malinder’swifeconsulted a quackin the village who gave medicines for both children.Whentheircondition worsened, she took them to Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital in a tempo for treatment. According to Dr. Julie Kumari of Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital, the daughter died en route to the hospital whereas the son was brought in critical condition.It is suspected that the girl died of heatstroke as indicated by high body temperature. In the past few days, two people including a child died due to heatstrokeas well in Ghatshila. DevarPurti, a resident of Dahigora, died on Friday and Renuka Singh passed away on Saturday.
