Jamshedpur: Saryu Roy, Minister Food and Supply Department lauded the efforts of Rotarians in eliminating Polio from the country. He was speaking at a function to mark the culmination of a rally at the Bistupur Clock Tower to commemorate the World Polio Day.
Rotarians of all seven Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur� RC Jamshedpur, Jamshedpur East, West, Midtown, Steel City, Dalma and Femina had joined the rally to support World End Polio Movement and to take the pledge to continue to strive for the cause till the disease is eradicated from the world.
Present on the occasion were renowned paediatrician and Pulse Polio coordinator B.R Master , Sanjeev Thakur Rotary District Chair Of Public image, Ronald D Costa, Dr Bharat, regional secretary, Amresh Sinha, Alakananda Bakshi , Supti Kanaujia and nearly 130 Rotarians .
Dr. Master briefed everyone about the disease, it�s impact, and how India and other countries became Polio free and how important it is to eradicate the disease from the world . Sanjeev Thakur spoke on role of Rotary and requested everyone to support the movement tirelessly.
The build up to the event had been done through messaging on hoardings on World Polio Day as well as banners which have been put up at Bistupur Postal park. The Rotary Clock Tower has been decorated with placards and balloons and will remain Illuminated for two days in the evenings. These will catch the attention of thousands of commuters and remind them to take their children for vaccination.
