Seraikela: Mining Task Force of Seraikela-Kharsawan will be launching a campaign against illegal mining in the district very soon. A meeting of the task force was convened in this connection on Thursday by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kunj Bihari Pandey at the DC Office.
Assistant District Mining Officer Sanjay Sharma said the ADC had directed the Mining Task Force to take prompt action against illegal quarrying and mining activities in the district. Illegal crusher units should also be shut down during the campaign, said Sharma quoting the ADC.
The ADC further asked the Regional Officer of Pollution Board to visit illegal crusher units and other industrial units to find out whether pollution control norms are being followed or not. Action should be taken against those flouting the norms, he said.
