Jamshedpur: To renew the waning interest in theatre and drama among youngsters city-bases organizations have come forward to hold a Bengali drama festival at the Milanee.

Subrata Dutta (Arjuna and Hall of Fame award winner) of Indian Power Lifting Federation along with the Milanee is jointly organizing Bengali Drama Festival from January 15 to January 17.

On January 15 Murtiman and one shruti Natak will be presented. Next day on January 16 the drama Satti-Saat-Gappo would be staged. On January 17 Suon Poka would cast noted theatre personality Dev Shankar Haldar and Shovan Ganguly, informed Bhaskar Mitra, general secretary of Indian Power Lifting Federation.

Subrata Dutta spoke to Avenue Mail, The Milanee is a pioneer in hosting drama fests in the city for a long time now. It has a glorious past in inviting noted theatre personalities in the city. The 100-year-old Milanee had started organizing plays in 1914.

Particularly the organization has been organizing drama festivals for the school children and inter-school drama festivals, and various cultural events as well.

This time we are organizing the three-day drama festival in the light of very positive response in last years drama festival. About 30 artistes form Kolkata are coming to Jamshedpur stage plays.

Passes can be collected at the entry gates of the Milanee free of cost.
