The Milanee: Free heart camp, musical evening marks 104th foundation day

Jamshedpur, Feb. 4: Steel City’s oldest and one of the most well managed socio-cultural organisation, The Milanee celebrated its 104th foundation day on Saturday, February 4 at its Bistupur premises.

The program began at 9.30 in the morning where the Club flag was hoisted by the President of Shekhar Dey followed by cake cutting ceremony. All the members of the club paid their homage to all predecessor who have made the institution what it is today.

Club song was also presented which made the audience enthrall. A free heart check up camp in association with Meditrina Hospital was also organised in club hall which benefitted 152 persons.

A Musical function by Rwik Basu and Ahana Ghosh of SA-RE-GA-MA fame made the audience spell bound. At the event several club members, children and others were present.

Senior Club Executives also felicitated 27 active and participative members for their contribution towards club activities throughout the year.

The oldest club of steel city based at Bistupur was formed way back in 1914 by Shantiram Chakraborty, former chief medical officer of Tata Steel along with some social workers. Earlier known as the Sakchi Dramatic Club, Milanee was renamed after it merged the Oriya Dramatic Club and Saraswat Sammilani in 1920.
