MHA security advisor convenes meeting with paramilitary forces at West Singhbhum CRPF camp

Jamshedpur, Jan 5: In view of the ongoing development projects at Naxal infested areas of West Singhbhum, K Vijay Kumar, senior security advisor, Ministry of Home Affair, New Delhi held a meeting of police and paramilitary forces at CRPF camp at Sonua in West Singhbhum on Tuesday. During the interaction, Kumar expressed the need for better coordination between the police and CRPF. The programmes are aimed to exterminate the effect of left-wing extremism in the state.

Kumar was accompanied by Inspector General of Police, CRPF Jharkhand Sector Maheshwar Dayal, Deputy Inspector General of Police, STF, Kuldeep Dwivedi, Deputy Inspector General of Police DP Banerjee when he inspected Sonua Camp of CRPF battalion 60.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kolhan, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF Hanumant Singh Rawat, Superintendent of Police, Chaibasa Ajay Linda, Commandant of CRPF-60 Battalion Anand Jerai, SDPO, Nathu Singh Meena, SDO Abhijit Sinha And other senior officials were also present.

K Vijay Kumar reviewed the anti-Naxal operations going on in Chaibasa district and the ongoing development works in Naxal area. He appreciated the work being carried by DIG Kolhan Rajiv Ranjan Singh and SP Chaibasa Ajay Linda.

A senior officer said at the meeting deliberations on the strategy adopted by the police. The advisor expressed an urgent need for better coordination to flush out terrorists. During the meeting, the senior security took information about present status at West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan where the naxals are still active.  He also took information about violence that took place in the two districts during the past one year.

After reviewing the naxal operations, Kumar queried if the police in Kolhan police range needs  any further support like in increasing the number of paramilitary forces there to combat the naxals in a more rigorous way.

Later talking to newsmen  Kumar expressed satisfaction on the overall scenario of the development scheme of things in West Singhbhum.


The advisor had visited the district last year in November. He informed that next month too, he plans to visit the area to inspect development schemes.  He said that his visit is aimed at finding out solutions for speedy implementation of the schemes.
